State Symphony Orchestra of Mexico - Lionel Morales, Pianist

Blockbuster program includes Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto No. 3, Mendelssohn, Symphony No. 5 “Reformation” and S. Revueltas, “Sensemaya” The Snake Killing Ritual. This highly accomplished symphony is Mexico's most important music ensemble. Pianist, Lionel Morales is described as “one of the most brilliant and successful pianists of his generation…extraordinary technique...and talent.”

On August 27, 1971, under the initiative of Enrique Bátiz Campbell and the government of the State of Mexico, the Symphonic Orchestra (OSEM) of this state was founded, with the purpose of spreading music as an art as a means of creating union and identity among the citizens of the state.
